Do you sell pre-ground coffee?

Yes, you will have your choice between whole bean or pre-ground coffee. We will contact you in the weeks after our campaign has ended on August 20th to ask for your preference.

What type of roast do you sell?

Where are you sourcing Levanta Coffee from?

We are sourcing our first batch of coffee from northern Peru as the harvest is currently underway there. In the fall of 2017 we will begin our selection process for partner-farmers in Honduras and will source their coffee by the end of 2017.

Is your coffee “Fair Trade”?

Since Levanta Coffee pays 4 times higher of a bonus than “Fair Trade,” we’ve chosen not to register with a “Fair Trade” certification agency. Remember that the Levanta Coffee Bonus is paid directly to farmers, whereas in “Fair Trade” that often is not the case.

Is your coffee organic?

Although “organic practices” are used in all of the coffee we have sourced from Peru, our first batch will not carry the “USDA Organic” label. We must gain approval before we begin to use an Organic certification--which takes time.

Can I designate my coffee reward to someone else as a gift?

Of course! We will send out a survey to you as soon as our Kickstarter is complete and you will be able to tell us exactly where you want your reward to be sent, to whom and what message you would like to include.

Do you have decaf coffee?

Unfortunately, at this time we will not offer decaf. We will be working hard to make this a possibility in the future.

When can I expect my coffee to be delivered?

Your coffee will arrive to where we will be roasting it in North Carolina at the beginning of November (ETA). We plan to fulfill all rewards before the end of November.

I use a coffee pod machine

Unfortunately, at this time we will not offer Levanta Coffee in a “pod” presentation. In the future, we will be working to find an environmentally-safe coffee pod so you can enjoy Levanta Coffee any way you prefer. While we are unable to endorse any specific other product, we would like to point out that there are now several different types of re-usable, self-refillable coffee pods on the market--you could use them with your Levanta Coffee! Who took your photos and videos?

We decided to work with a photographer from Honduras named Nahun Rodriguez. Robert had worked with him previously and found him to be extremely talented. We highly recommend him.

Matt and Robert also take quite a few photos using their Nexus and Pixel phones.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.

Why can’t I log into my account?

Request a login link to your survey by entering your email here:

BackerKit will send you an automated email with an invite link to whatever email you pledged with.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

Can I upgrade or get multiple copies of my pledge?

This depends on the project creator’s decision. If you are unable to see the ‘Want to switch your pledge level?’ after clicking on your pledge amount under “Pledge Level” in your survey, then the project creator would prefer people not to switch pledge levels.
